JPG | JPEG
General Description:
Full name: “Joint Photographic Experts Group”
Pronounced: “jay-peg”.
For What: Used for pixel-based images.
Where to use: on websites, social media, and applications online (such as for an art festival, competition, grant/loan).
Colour Profile: You can use JPG for CMYK images, however, I prefer using the same file format for specific things so that I know exactly what an image is for at a glance. I use JPG for RGB images and TIF for CMYK.
Transparency: Not possible.
JPG vs JPEG
Both are correct. Personally, I like keeping things simple, so I stick with one: JPG. But you can use either one.
