I like to use a variety of brands.
After more than two decades of working as a graphic designer, I kicked preconceived concepts to the curb. It’s play and see what happens for me now!
I love texture! I’m having a blast making spontaneous, “mad scientist” art, gleefully getting my hands—and every other surface nearby—very, very mucky!
Salt, turmeric, coffee, silicone, sand, mica powders…
You name it, I’ve probably thrown it in and around my acrylic paints. And trust me—funny, frustrating, and fascinating are just some of the words that came to mind as I experimented my way to an endpoint that manifested itself.
As I create each piece, the artwork’s purpose, philosophy, and/or humour pop or fade into my mind as I get closer and closer to feeling it’s “finished.”
As a scientist, I insist on keeping my work area clean. ☺️ … 🤣 Who am I kidding? It’s never this clean once I start………
